During the conference, Yichang promoted its advantages and prospects in the development of its green and intelligent shipbuilding industry to renowned companies and key trade associations from both domestic and international markets. An agreement of a nonferrous metal industrial park project with a total investment of 3 billion yuan was signed on-site.
In recent years, thanks to Yichang’s strengthened cooperation with research institutions and universities, significant breakthroughs have been made in the research and development of marine batteries and ship electric propulsion technologies, leading to continuous innovations in electric ship design. Currently, Yichang boasts 20 shipbuilding enterprises with annual primary business revenue of 20 million yuan and above, and its annual output accounts for over half of the total in the province.
