As an effort to provide map services, the platform, based on geographic information technology, web technology, and aesthetic design, integrates Yichang’s unique urban cultural and historical landscapes by absorbing various forms favored by young people, such as hand-painting, vector, and imaging, giving a graphic description of life scenarios like dining, transporting, traveling, shopping, entertaining, etc.
Four major maps are in place, namely the essential services map, the government services map, the industries map, and the cultural and tourist resources map. Of them all, the essential services map is a highlight, which includes the different aspects of daily life, such as tourism, camping, restrooms, gas stations and charging piles. With accurate and specific data, it provides services such as route recommendations, transport directions, and voice-guided tours.
Currently, users can have a free access to all the e-maps with an easy search for the WeChat applet “E-maps of Yichang” (Kanyichang). (Reporter/Xiong Xiaolei, Correspondent/Wang Junhua)
