2024-11-25 09:42:00
On the afternoon of November 22, the opening ceremony of the 2nd Yichang Mass Ice and Snow Season and the winter marketing promotion were held at Jiangchen Paradise Walk in Wuhan. Wang Zhouyu, an athlete from Yichang and a gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, was invited to attend the ceremony.

During the opening ceremony, the Yichang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism unveiled four premium winter travel routes. These routes include Yichang's ice and snow landscapes and incorporate winter specialty products such as hot spring resorts and hearty cuisine, providing tourists with diverse travel options. Ice and snow scenic spots such as Bailihuang Ski Resort and Wufeng International Ski Resort were promoted on-site. In addition, Yichang Xiazhou International Travel Agency and Shunda International Travel Agency signed cooperation agreements with Wuhan-based channel partners.

To cater to the diverse needs of tourists, the Mass Ice and Snow Season of this year will also introduce a variety of exciting activities. These include skiing open competitions, special discount months for skiing and hot spring visits, winter camps for teenage skiers and the Ice and Snow Carnival on campus in Yichang, all designed to enhance the travel experience of ice and snow enthusiasts.

It was learned that the Second Mass Ice and Snow Season will run until February 2025. During this period, tourists can participate in the social media topic “Coming to Yichang to Work up a Sweat” on platforms such as Douyin, WeChat Video and RED, documenting their joyful travel moments.

The person in charge of the Yichang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism said that the purpose of organizing these activities is to strengthen the integration of sports and tourism by fully utilizing Yichang’s abundant resources such as skiing and hot springs. The goal is to create a unique winter tourism brand and promote the development of the entire industry chain including ice and snow sports, culture, equipment and tourism.
