This year, the airport boosted flights to major domestic cities and actively expanded its tourism routes. A total of 21 airlines operated 53 passenger routes and one cargo route throughout the year. Notably, after resuming its first international route between Dalian and Bangkok via Yichang in September 2023, the airport also introduced new international and regional routes to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam and Incheon in South Korea. With an international passenger throughput exceeding 100,000, the Yichang Sanxia International Airport now ranks second only to the Wuhan Tianhe Airport in Hubei Province.
