　　In 2024, municipal state-owned enterprises invested 2.857 billion yuan in R & D, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%, according to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the People’s Government of Yichang. The overall strength of technological innovation in these enterprises has been steadily enhanced, and innovation achievements have emerged continuously.

　　As of now, Yichang’s state-owned enterprises own eight national-level innovation platforms and 38 provincial-level scientific research platforms. Last year, 284 new patents were authorized, and the number of overseas authorized patents increased to 108. A total of 19 new national and industry standards were initiated. Angel Yeast Co., Ltd. took the lead in establishing the provincial synthetic biotechnology innovation consortium and participated in formulating the ISO standard for baking yeast.
