Yichang’s inaugural digital heritage institution, Yichang Urban Digital Memory Museum, commenced operations today within the restored British Taikoo Steamship Company building on Ermalu Road’s historic corridor on February 22.

　　Jointly developed by the Three Gorges Cultural Tourism Group and Beijing Blackbow Digital Company, the museum employs projection mapping and AI interactive displays to reinterpret regional history. Original architectural features including Victorian-era brickwork and wooden beams have been preserved throughout the restoration.

　　Since its soft opening during the Spring Festival holidays, the museum has evolved into a dual cultural magnet to showcase Yichang’s centuries-old heritage through immersive tech while emerging as a lifestyle destination with avant-garde digital exhibitions, specialty coffee outlets and themed bars, now ranking among the region’s most visited hotspots.
