Recently, a significant discovery of brachiopod fossils was made in Chuanxindian Village, Zigui County. Jiang Haishui, a professor from the School of Earth Sciences at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), believes these fossils likely date back to the Ordovician period, roughly 470 million years ago. This remarkable find offers fresh insights into the geographic environment and the evolution of ancient life in the Three Gorges area. (Reporter/Hu Xingjun, Correspondent/Hao Mingxi)
