Yangtze’s Yichang section first adopts virtual buoys
2025-04-17 09:53:25
On April 10, the Changjiang-Yichang Waterway Bureauofficially integrated data from 17 virtual buoys into the electronic navigation chart of the Yangtze River. This marks the first employment of virtual buoys in the Yichang section of the Yangtze River, allowing passing vessels to access accurate and detailed navigation information in real-time through intelligent terminals.

It is learned that the bureau has deployed 17 virtual buoys across five regional navigation offices and ten key waterways under its jurisdiction. Technical teams conducted on-site surveys and data analyses to precisely calibrate the buoys' positioning parameters. Additionally, eight virtual buoys were installed in anchorage areas, significantly improving safety in complex waterway segments. (Reporter/Wang Ying, Correspondents/He Ming and Li Qinggui)
