The first phase of Changlin Road in Yiling District, Hubei Province’s inaugural “zero-carbon freight corridor,” officially began trial operations as the first heavy-duty truck smoothly entered a dedicated lane on April 8. This effort effectively resolves the longstanding problems of “mining trucks disturbing urban communities” in the region housing Asia’s second-largest phosphate reserve. By establishing a green ecosystem integrating “mining vehicles, roads and energy,” the project pioneers an innovative solution to control dust pollution from mineral transportation. The 29.5-km freight route, with an estimated investment of 2.717 billion yuan, is a key project to achieve the last-mile effort in green mining.
