Yichang’s first low-voltage and high-capacity charging station for pure electric transport ships was completed at the Ningtong Port in Yidu County on April 9.

　　 The charging station includes one 800kVA box-type transformer, along with supporting facilities such as AC power boxes, shore connection boxes, and low-voltage ship-connecting cable management devices. The entire system can convert directly the 10 kVAC power into the DC power supply required by ships, meeting the charging needs of electric ships for green short-distance shipping of phosphate ore from Xingshan to Zhijiang.
