On May 5, Yichang Sanxia International Airport announced that it handled 53,000 passenger trips during the 5-day May Day holidays, marking a 12.8% year-on-year increase. The airport operated 422 flights during the period, up 2.1% from the same period last year, with a daily average of over 10,000 trips. International travel demand surged significantly, recording over 2,000 international passenger trips—a 26.4% rise year-on-year. Of these international travelers, 82.8% were foreign nationals, primarily from South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand.

　　In response to thetravel boom, the airport has collaborated with Ctrip and Tongcheng Travel, twoleading online travel platforms,to provide instant discounts of CN¥30–70 for first-time users booking outbound flights from Yichang on these platforms.
