During the May Day holidays, Hubei Hanway Ecological Agriculture Group’s Three Gorges Orange Vinegar series made its debut in Spain with offerings including Italian-style Balsamic Vinegar and Orange Raw Vinegar. This marks the series’ first market entry into Spain following successful launches in the United States, Canada and Australia, representing a significant advancement in the Hanway Group’s European expansion.
In recent years, the Hanway Group has concentrated on building a comprehensive citrus industry chain, developing dozens of deep-processed citrus products across three core categories: condiments, snacks and beverages. These achievements are widely acknowledged as both industry-leading and unique.Through the introduction of Italian balsamic vinegar fermentation techniques and proprietary aroma-producing microorganisms, the company successfully developed its orange raw vinegar products following years of dedicated research, thereby bridging a technological gap in China's high-end fruit vinegar market.
According to Chen Shigui, Chairperson of the company, the group has emerged as China’s largest supplier of orange raw vinegar, boasting an annual production capacity of 35,000 metric tons. The inventory value of stored orange raw vinegar currently stands at approximately 4 billion yuan. The company has further disclosed plans to construct 3,000 vinegar storage tanks, with incremental additions of 100 to 200 tanks annually, thereby enabling a total storage capacity exceeding 150,000 tons of orange vinegar.
In April 2025, the Hanway Group achieved national certification for the end-to-end production process of its Three Gorges Orange Vinegar series, from raw material cultivation to final fermentation. This milestone signifies the company’s critical advancement in building a comprehensive health food ecosystem. (Reporter/Jie Xingwei, Correspondent/Chen Dandan).
