Recently, the reporter visited the construction site of the Sichuan Natural Gas Eastward Transmission Pipeline Project at Taohuadang, Sujiabang Village, Xiannü Town, Zhijiang County. On-site observations revealed fully automated welding equipment operating at full capacity, workers skillfully maneuvering remote controls to weld pipeline sections.

　　The Sichuan-Chongqing-Hubei (Tongliang-Qianjiang) section of this pipeline project traverses four districtsin Chongqing and four Hubei districts, including Enshi, Yichang, Jingzhou and Qianjiang. The Yichang section spans 182.5 kilometers across four counties (Changyang, Yidu, Xiaoting and Zhijiang), serving as a crucial junction connecting eastern and western China’s energy infrastructure.

　　Construction on the Yichang section commenced on February 21 this year and has yielded significant interim accomplishments. Current progress indicates that 30% of the pipeline project has been completed, marking steady transformation of this west-to-east energy corridor from conceptual planning to physical realization.
