On June 4, at the construction site of the Baiyang Angel Yeast Biotech Industrial Park in Yichang High-Tech Zone, the facade decoration of the yeast protein and specialty yeast production workshops was nearing completion, while indoor equipment installation was progressing at the same pace. The project is expected to be fully completed by September this year.

　　The park has been strategically positioned as a high-end food ingredient processing hub. Its Phase I project, with a total investment of 1.75 billion yuan, will specialize in manufacturing high-value-added products including yeast protein, high-nucleic-acid yeast extract, specialty yeast and fermentation-derived glucose. Thecurrent construction ofthe specialty yeast and yeast protein production facilities is 80% complete.

　　The park consists of four sub-projects: grain storage facilities and supporting infrastructure, carbon source base, specialty yeast production, and yeast protein production. Among these, the grain storage and carbon source base facilities have already been completed and are now in operation. Meanwhile, the construction of the energy center and environmental protection facilities is progressing rapidly.Upon full operation, the park will form a vertically integrated industrial chain, from grain sourcing to carbon source production, biomanufacturing, and biosynthesis, contributing to the establishment of Yichang’s biomanufacturing industry cluster.(Reporters/Ma Lin and Tan Yangchenlei, Correspondent/Yang Ligen)
