The National Development and Reform Commissionhasrecently approved the feasibility study report for the Three Gorges Waterway New Channel Project.

　　As the backbone of the Yangtze River Economic Belt’s development, the Yangtze River Golden Waterway plays a pivotal role in regional growth. The Three Gorges-Gezhouba Hub serves as a crucial junction within this shipping network.

　　This new waterway channel will be the largest integrated engineering project on the Yangtze River since the original Three Gorges Project, integrating hydraulic engineering, navigation and ecological preservation. Its construction represents a key initiative in implementing the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development Strategy and stimulating socio-economic progress throughout the river basin, withprofound strategic significance.
