The Hubei Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently launched the high-quality development action plan for “Distinctive Hometown” Initiative, aiming to establish 10 nationally renowned and 20 provincially influential “distinctive hometowns” by 2030. Seven Yichang counties and districts made the list, including Zigui County as the “Home of Navel Oranges,” among the 12 prioritized counties for key support, Changyang County as the “Home of Konjac” and Zhijiang County as the “County of Baijiu” among the 19 targeted counties for active development, Yidu County as the “Home of Citrus,” Yiling District as the “Home of Citrus and Early-Ripening Honey Tangerines,” Yuan’an County as the “Home of Shiitake Mushrooms and Tea Culture,” Wufeng as the “World Tea Tourism Destination” and Zigui County as the “Home of Simian Tea” among the 32 designated counties for integrated optimization.
