Yichang sees foreign trade surge during first half of 2025

  Statistics released by Yichang Customs on July 22 revealed robust growth in Yichang’s foreign trade, with total import and export values hitting 27.19 billion yuan during the first six months of 2025, a notable 23.5% year-on-year increase. Exports stood at 21.73 billion yuan, compared with 5.46 billion yuan in imports, with general trade, processing trade, and bonded logistics accounting for import and export values of 24.87 billion yuan, 820 million yuan, and 1.45 billion yuan, respectively. ASEAN emerged as Yichang’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade volume hitting 7.1 billion yuan, marking a 46.1% year-on-year surge. Next was the EU, with 2.59 billion yuan, followed by Brazil with 2.47 billion yuan. Notably, trade with Belt and Road Initiative partner countries grew by 36.5%, totaling 17.5 billion yuan. Trade with other RCEP member states also showed growing momentum at 10.12 billion yuan, up 29.8% year on year.(Reporter/Yang Jing, Correspondent/Shen Xiaowei)
