The 2025 Regional Brand List for Shiitake Mushrooms was released on November 14 at the International Shiitake Supply Chain Conference. According to the list, “Yuan’an Shiitake” ranked seventh, scoring 649.57 points.
Yuan’an County has a long history of edible mushroom cultivation and has been recognized as both the “Capital of Shiitake Mushrooms in China” and the “China’s Spring Planting Mushroom Capital.”
The county now cultivates 65 million mushroom bags annually, yielding 65,700 metric tons of shiitake mushrooms.
Yuan’an also serves as a national-level breeding base for high-quality edible mushroom varieties. It currently produces 20 million bags of strains each year, which are sold to more than 110 counties and cities nationwide. (Sanxia Daily: Reporter/Jie Xingwei, Correspondent/Wang Aoxue)
