Two geographical indication (GI) products from Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, “Wufeng Gastrodia” and “Wufeng Chinese Galls”, won gold medals at the Fourth International Geographical Indication Products Expo. The expo attracted over 700 companies from more than 30 countries.

　　Wufeng Gastrodia, noted for its highly effective medicinal components, has been listed among the “Top 10 Hubei Medicines” and holds a national geographical indication certification. Additionally, together with the other GI product, Wufeng Chinese Galls, Wufeng County has achieved two internationally recognized major scientific breakthroughs, secured five technology patents, and contributed to 44 industry standards. More importantly, Wufeng County is also home to China’s only engineering research center for the efficient cultivation and deep processing of Chinese galls.
