It was learnt on November 24 that the Yichang-Changde high-speed railway is projected to break ground before the end of this year and to open to traffic by the end of 2029. Upon completion, the travel time between Yichang and Changde will be slashed, with the fastest journeys taking about 1 hour from Yichang to Changde and 2 hours to Changsha.

　　The 234.4-kilometer linewith a design speed of 350 km/h will run from Changyangdong Station in Hubei Province to Changde Station in Hunan Province, with a total investment of around 32.47 billion yuan. Key stations along the route include Changyangdong, Yidu, Songzixi in Hubei and Lixianxi, Linlidong and Changde in Hunan. (Sanxia Daily: Reporter/Deng Yuqin)
