On February 2, the first day of this year’s Spring Festival travel rush, Yichang Sanxia International Airport operated 82 scheduled flights, serving approximately 9,680 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 33%. Over the entire 40-day travel period, the airport is expected to handle 3,540 flights, with passenger throughput projected to exceed 418,000, an increase of 8.4% compared to the same period last year. In response to strong travel demand, the airport has increased flight frequency on popular routes such as Yichang-Guangzhou, with daily flights potentially reaching up to 10. Additional service measures include dynamically adjusting the number of open check-in counters, deploying volunteer staff to provide guidance and assistance, and establishing dedicated green channels to ensure a smooth and convenient travel experience for all passengers.
