On February 6, over 100 members of the first Thai tourist group finished their Chinese New Year tour to Yichang and returned to Thailand by direct flight after their visits to the popular scenic attractions including the “Two Dams and One Gorge,” namely the Gezhouba Dam, the Xiling Gorge and the Three Gorges Dam.
With the launch of direct flights and the implementation of visafree policy, flights between Yichang and Bangkok have become more frequent, attracting a large number of Thai tourists and overseas Chinese tourists to experience the festive atmosphere of Chinese New Year. During the travel season of the Spring Festival of this year, Yichang Sanxia International Airport plans to operate 102 international and regional flights, covering routes from Yichang to Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong, China.
In 2025, Yichang received 404,000 inbound tourists, generating international tourism revenue of 1.13 billion yuan, a significant yearonyear growth, demonstrating Yichang’s growing appeal in the international market.(Sanxia Daily: Reporters/Yang Jing and Chen Xiangrui)
