On March 20, Wyndham Grand Yichang Riverside opened as the first Wyndham Grand hotel in Hubei Province, filling a long-standing gap in Yichang’s offering of internationally branded premium hotels.

　　Rooted in the culture of the ancient Chu state and the traditions of the Three Gorges region, the hotel draws inspiration from the poetic imagery of Qu Yuan’s Chuci poetry in its design, and also offers immersive experiences such as creative activities themed around intangible cultural heritage.

　　At the opening ceremony, the hotel partnered with China Three Gorges Tourism Group to launch the “Sturgeon VIP Exclusive Experience,” a package that combines the “Two Dams and One Gorge” scenic tour with premium accommodation. This marks the region’s first integrated “hotel + cruise + scenic area” model, seamlessly connecting lodging with sightseeing. The new model helps address the tendency of visitors to pass through Yichang without staying overnight, encouraging longer stays and creating more opportunities for spending and engagement.
