On April 8, it was learned from China Three Gorges Corporation that in the first quarter of this year, the Three Gorges Project maintainedstable and efficientoperations in effective insurance of security in water supply, energy, navigation and ecological maintenance in the Yangtze River basin.

　　In the first quarter, China Three Gorges Corporation’s hydropower, wind power and solar power generation all hit record highs for the same period, with total power generation exceeding 107.4 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 7%. Ofthistotal, the Three Gorges Power Station generated more than 16 billion kWh. The Three Gorges ship lock handled 8,337 ship transits, 1,088 passenger trips and 35.47 million metric tons of cargo through the lock. The Three Gorges ship lift, serving as a fast passage over the dam, handled over 100,000 passenger trips, 875 ship transits, and 430,000 metric tons of cargo. (Sanxia Daily: Reporter/Han Jingwen)
