Yichang accelerates to become new aviation logistics hub in Central China
2026-04-13 14:14:00

On April 10, the first phase of the Yichang Sanxia Aviation Industrial Park project officially broke ground in Xiaoting District, with a total investment of about 6 billion yuan.

The first phase of the project focuses on building an air cargo center, including a 26,000-square-meter international cargo terminal building and 45,000 square meters of integrated warehousing, along with supporting cargo yards, service lanes, security systems and port facilities. The second phase is planned to include an aviation training base, aviationpartsassemblyworkshops, aircraft dismantling and remanufacturing lines and an aviation material trading center, aiming to create a complete aviation industry ecosystem.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to handle an annual throughput of 100,000 metric tons, which will significantly unlock aviation logistics potential, boost Yichang’s status as a transportation hub, raiseitslevelofopening-up, and provide strong momentum for Yichang to accelerate the development of an integrated “rail-water-road-air” intermodal transport system. Upon completion of the project, Yichang is expected to become a new aviation logistics engine in Central China, offering solid support for Hubei Province as it builds a pilot zone for the new development paradigm at home.
