Benefiting from its world-class green electricity resources and continuously expanding computing infrastructure, Yichang’s big data and AI industry exceeded 100 billion yuan in output value by the end of 2025, accelerating Yichang’s transformation from the “Capital of Hydropower” to the “Capital of Computing Power.”

　　Yichang is home to world-class hydropower stations such as the Three Gorges Power Plant and the Gezhouba Power Plant, with clean energy installed capacity accounting for over 94% of the total, contributing 10% of China’s green electricity. Over the past years, notable progress has been made in industrial applications, and the innovation ecosystem has continued to improve. As of the end of 2025, Yichang had achieved an intelligent computing power capacity of 3,500P, with over 10,000P under construction, more than 60 AI enterprises, and the output value of the big data and AI industry surpassing 100 billion yuan.
