Recently, several water-friendly attractions have opened to the public in Yichang, including Changyang County’s “Silver Beach” Park, the Bailizhou Ecological Corridor in Zhijiang County, Dangyang County’s “Little Erhai,” “Victoria Beach” in Dianjun District, Yuan’an County’s “Peach Blossom Island” and Xiling District’s “Little Qingdao.” In recent years, Yichang has adhered to the philosophy of “developing the shoreline for public,” restoring ecological riverbanks, enhancing amenities like parking lots and rest platforms, and appropriately introducing commercial offerings such as paddle-boarding and cafés to improve the public recreational experience. These projects are part of the ecological restoration efforts under the Yangtze River Conservation Initiative, which aims to reshape water-friendly spaces, meet residents’ needs for waterside leisure, and allow people of Yichang to share in the benefits of ecological progress.
