In recent years, relying on its favorable soil and climate conditions, Dangyang County has widely applied the sweet potato “two-stage” seedling technology developed by the Yichang Municipal Agro-Tech Extension and Service Center. It has developed a full sweet potato industry chain and become a major supplier of sweet potato seedlings for Hubei and neighboring areas. The regional public brand “Dangyang Sweet Potato” has been established, with products sold to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and overseas markets including the Netherlands, Malaysia and Singapore. Value-addedprocessedproducts, such as pet food, are exported to South Korea, Japan and Europe. This year, the planting area of the whole county is expected to reach 38,000 mu (over 2,500 hectares), with an output value of approximately 300 million yuan, making the small sweet potato a major driver of rural revitalization.
