On May 26, Yan Yuanyi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yichang Municipal Party Committee, met with Thaddeus Kambanei, Ambassador of Papua New Guinea to China and his delegation. Yan Yuanyi said Yichang and Papua New Guinea enjoy a solid foundation for cooperation in water conservancy, hydropower, energy development, modern agriculture and medical education. He hoped to further deepen cooperation in various fields and promote the establishment of sister-city relations. Ambassador Kambane spoke highly of Yichang’s economic and social achievements and believed both sides hadbroad cooperation prospects in solar energy and power sectors. During the visit, the delegation attended a donation ceremony at the Papua New Guinea Research Institute of China Three Gorges University, exchanged views with international students, and visited key industrial parks and local enterprises.
