Starting July 1, 2026, China State Railway will roll out a new train timetable. Yichangbei Railway Station will launch two non-stop high-speed trains G3922/3 and G3842/3 bound for Xi’anbei Station for the first time, with a ride duration of around 4 hours and 15 minutes. This marks the end of Yichang’s long-standing lack of scheduled direct train services to Xi’an.
The trains will call at Jingmenxi Railway Station, Xiangyangdong Railway Station, Shiyandong Railway Station, Shangluoxi Railway Station, and other stations along the route. The new service links premier cultural and tourism destinations including the Three Gorges, the Ancient Longzhong (the historical residence ofZhuge Liang (181–234)), the Wudang Mountains, and the Terracotta Warrior Museum, creating a cultural tourism passage connecting western Hubei with central Shaanxi.
The new route will significantly shorten the travel time between western Hubei and the Guanzhong region, facilitating business and tourism travel. (Sanxia Daily: Reporter/Deng Yuqin, Correspondents/Dou Changcui and Chen Long)
