On June 18, the 2026 Yichang Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference was held in Yichang.

　　He Yafei, Vice Chairman of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), stated in his address that Yichang boasts exceptional mountain ecological resources and has achieved a virtuous cycle of “sustainable ecology, thriving industries and prosperous people” in its cultural tourism sector. He expressed his commitment to supporting Yichang in building itself into a world-renowned cultural tourism destination. Huang Jianxiong, Secretary of the CPC Yichang Municipal Party Committee, extended a sincere invitation to friends both at home and abroad to experience the charm of Chu culture and the breathtaking gorgescenery of Yichang.

　　At the conference, Chen Bo, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), presented a membership certificate to Yichang, making it the sole newly inducted Chinese member city of the organization this year. The conference also unveiled the “Top 10 Yichang Cultural Gifts” and appointed Wang Zhiou, Sun Jiajun, Zhao Yunlei and others as Yichang’s cultural tourism ambassadors.
