Starting July 1, Yichangbei Railway Station will for the first time operate two direct high-speed trains to Xi’an, filling a long-standing gap in scheduled train connections between the two cities. The new services, designated G3922/3 and G3842/3, are scheduled to depart Yichangbei Railway Station at 8:04 am and 2:34 pm respectively, with the journey to Xi’anbei Railway Station taking approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes.
The Xi’an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway spans 257 kilometers with a designed speed of 350 km/h, completing the final section of the Xi’an-Wuhan high-speed rail corridor. According to the 12306 official platform, ticket prices for the Yichang-Xi’an route start at 369 yuan, with differentiated pricing to be applied based on demand and travel times.
The launch of direct Yichang-Xi’an services eliminates the need for passengers in western Hubei to transfer via Wuhan or Zhengzhou, making it possible to travel between the Three Gorges region and Xi’an within a half-day journey by high-speed rail.
