On June 30, the unmanned smart exhibition and sales point of Yichang C6 Cross-Border Shopping made its debut aboard the cross-provincial cruise ship “Vista Harmony” on the Yangtze River’s golden waterway.
Situated in the public area on the ship’s sixth deck, the exhibition point features a carefully curated range of cross-border products, including beauty and skincare items, nutritional supplements, apparel and accessories, and imported beverages. Passengers can browse the products via interactive touchscreens and place orders online while cruising, with purchases delivered straight to their doorsteps, offering a truly immersive shopping experience on board.
Thanks to the preferential tax policies of the Yichang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, cross-border purchases are exempt from import tariffs, while consumption tax and value-added tax are levied at 70% of the statutory rates. This typically brings prices down by 30% to 50% compared to regular market prices.
The “Vista Harmony” is the first cross-provincial resort cruise ship on the Yangtze, built by Three Gorges Culture and Tourism Group. The vessel set off on its maiden voyage in April 2026 and now operates between Yichang and Chongqing. The addition of this smart exhibition point further enriches the ship’s onboard services and gives a new boost to Yangtze River cruise travel by tapping into cross-border consumption.
