Recently, a batch of high-quality tea produced in Changyang, a key tea-growing county in the Wuling Mountain area, has been processed at the refined tea production workshop of Yichang Hexing Tea Co Ltd, and is ready for export to North African countries, including Morocco.
With a tea plantation area of 157,500 mu (approximately 10,500 hectares), Changyang is a major tea-producing county in the Wuling Mountain area. Hexing Tea Co Ltd, invested and established by a leading enterprise in the refined tea sector, has settled in the Changyang Urban-Rural Cold Chain Logistics Park. Under a model of “government building and enterprise operating”, the facility is equipped with an automated production line that puts the tea through more than 20 processing steps to produce five standardized export grades, including Zhenmei Tea.
Zhenmei Green Tea is a major export variety to North Africa, and the quality of Changyang’s summer and autumn Tea aligns well with the market demand there. Once the project reaches full capacity, it is expected to achieve an annual output of 5,000 metric tons and an annual production value of 200 million yuan, while providing 150 jobs. The project effectively fills a gap in Changyang’s tea industry deep-processing chain, and boosts high-quality industrial development.
