Yichang-made new-energy cargo vessel to be delivered to Germany
2026-07-27 12:41:00

Recently, Yichang Damen Shipyard Co Ltd launched a new-energy cargo vessel at the Yidu Green Intelligent Ship Industrial Park. This is the sixth new-energy vessel the company has delivered since relocating to the park, and it will be delivered to a German shipowner.

The vessel is approximately 89 meters in length, with a designed deadweight of 3,800 metric tons and qualification to operate in unrestricted navigation areas. It is capable of carrying bulk cargo, containers and other types of goods, and is compatible with B100 biofuel, significantly reducing carbon emissions. All cargo holds meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Class I standards for the transport of dangerous and explosive goods, enabling the vessel to carry both general and hazardous cargo.

With the digital production lines at the industrial park, the construction cycle has been shortened from 14 to 11 months, and delivery is scheduled for October this year. The company currently has 18 vessels on order, including six new-energy models. It will continue to optimize its automated production lines, accelerate the development of next-generation low-carbon and eco-friendly vessels, and expand its business in both domestic and international eco-friendly ship markets.(Sanxia Daily: Reporter/Zhou Chongyu, Correspondents/Zhu Min and Wang Wenqiang)
