On July 25, the first batch of handmade rattan woven products for export from Caobuhu Town, Dangyang County, was loaded and dispatched to Australia and the USA. The products, characterized by their simple and natural style and rustic handmade texture, have won favor among overseas consumers.
Through its “Hometown Employment Service Station,” Caobuhu Town has launched free rattan weaving training programs and adopted a flexible home-based work model, which enables women to secure nearby employment while caring for their families. To date, 168 women have participated, generating a cumulative economic value of nearly 100,000 yuan, and production capacity can fully meet order demands.
In recent years, Caobuhu Town has tapped into its heritage of state farm and educated youth culture, attracting young people to return to their hometowns for entrepreneurship and boost the development of rural cultural tourism. This rattan weaving export initiative has opened up international markets for local traditional handicrafts. Caobuhu Town plans to expand training programs, broaden sales channels, and promote more “fingertip craftsmanship” to overseas markets in the next step.
