Recently, a delegation from Three Gorges Vocational College of Electric Power, led by Cheng Min, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the College, visited Kazakhstan for an inspection and exchange visit at the invitation of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the visit, the “Jingchu Workshop (Kazakhstan)” and the “Joint Training Center of the Kazakhstan Water Resources Research Institute and Three Gorges Vocational College of Electric Power” were inaugurated.
The delegation’s first stop was the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where both sides held in-depth discussions on core issues, including talent gaps in Kazakhstan’s water sector, the implementation of specialized technical training programs, faculty exchanges and the sharing of curriculum resources, reaching preliminary consensus on multiple cooperation items. The delegation then visited the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan to report on the progress of the visit and seek policy guidance for the college’s subsequent educational cooperation with Kazakhstan.
The delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the Kazakhstan Water Resources Research Institute, held in-depth discussions with its leaders and technical experts, and attended the inauguration ceremonies for the “Joint Training Center of the Kazakhstan Water Resources Research Institute and Three Gorges Vocational College of Electric Power” and the “Jingchu Workshop (Kazakhstan)”. Both sides have identified key areas of cooperation, including training of water-sector professionals, water engineering technology R&D, promotion of smart irrigation technologies and scientific research exchange and commercialization of outcomes. The inauguration marks the official establishment of a entity-based cooperation platform for scientific research exchange and talent development in the water sector in Kazakhstan.
