The Yiling Square is the central square of Yichang, which was completed and opened to the public on November 3, 1997, just several days before the damming of the Yangtze River for the Three Gorges Project. The square covers a land of about 55.2 thousand m2 including 32 thousand m2 of lawn. Now, it’s the largest green square with multi functions including leisure, recreation, physical exercises and etc. The first Yangtze Three Gorges International Tourism Festival was held here several years ago.
