
At 8 o'clock on April 1, 216 tons of agricultural and sideline products of Yichang City was delivered to Shanghai after an urgent preparation of 21 hours to support its fight against Covid-19.
On the morning of March 31, shortly after receiving from the municipal government the instruction to provide 200 tons of daily agricultural and sideline products for Shanghai people to support their fight against Covid-19, the staff of the Three Gorges Logistics Center immediately took action to list the types and quantities of supplies to provide. The cabbages form Dangyang, rice form Yuan’an, rapeseed oil from Changbanpo, navel oranges from Zigui and some other agricultural specialties of various areas of Yichang were soon listed for following rapid collection started at 11 am. With perfect arrangement of food safety testing, sorting, packaging and logistics scheduling, the supplies were gathered batch by batch at the Three Gorges Logistics Center soon. More than 200 staff members at the center and volunteers who live near the center took part in sorting and packaging the supplies into small packs for household use. At 6:25 on April 1, the last refrigerated truck left the logistics center and set off for Shanghai from the designated area of gathering. (Reported by Wan Longyun, Zhou Xingliang)
