
After 67 days of painting, the Yichang Yangtze River Highway Bridge made a stunning appearance in a brand new red suit.
The coating area of the bridge covers a total of 21907 square meters of the main body and approach spans of the bridge, including the two main towers on the north and south banks with the respective heights of 112.415m and 142.227m. The painting was planned to finish in 110 days, which actually took 67 days, completed about a month in advance.
According to Zeng Ming, the person in charge of the Bridge Maintenance Station, the bridge was coated with high weathering-resistance and long-life fluorocarbon paint, the 10-year color retention rate of which reaches 80% in 5000-hour artificial accelerated aging testing experiments.
