Yichang-Xingshan railway starts long-track laying
2024-08-13 10:47:00

On August 8, the Huangbaihe Bridge, under construction on the link between Yichang and the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway (also known as the Yichang-Xingshan Railway), gracefully traced an arc over the Huangbaihe wetland in Yiling District. The entire route, now advancing into the long track-laying phase, starts from Yichangdong Railway Station, traversing Wujiagang District, the High-Tech Zone, and Yiling District, terminating in Xingshan County, where it connects to the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway. This section includes several stops, including Yichangdong Railway Station, Xiabaoping Station, and Xingshan Station, spanning a total distance of 109 kilometers and designed for speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour. Upon completion, this project anticipates seamless integration between the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway and the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway. This connectivity will drastically reduce travel time, slashing the trip from Xingshan to Yichang from the current two hours to a mere 20 minutes, and enabling travelers to reach Chongqing from Yichang within three hours.
