At the beginning of September, the rice paddies in Fenxiang Township, Yiling District, are a stunning sight, covered in gold and ready for harvest. Roads run through the fields, leading to farmers’ homes, while colorful residences along the roads create picturesque scenes.
Recently, Yiling District has advanced its five key agricultural sectors: tea, citrus, livestock, Chinese medicinal materials, grain, oil, and vegetables, while also promoting agricultural tourism and healthcare. These efforts have sped up the creation of a modern agricultural system and improved regional coordination. Emphasis has been placed on growing high-quality rice along the Yichang-Baokang and Wuhan-Yichang routes, with farmers encouraged to plant a unified variety on a large scale. Ten model villages for efficient farming have been established, along with a premium grain and oil demonstration base of 10,000 mu. These initiatives highlight a commitment to agricultural excellence and ensuring a plentiful harvest. (Correspondents/Zhang Guorong and Wang Zuoxin)
