The dance drama Zhaojun, staged by the Hohhot Opera and Dance Drama Theatre, premiered at the Yichang Theatre on December 6. The drama listed among the 2023 Outstanding Dramas sponsored by the China National Arts Fund unfolds across five chapters: “He Qin”(Marriage for Peace), “Chu Sai”(Journey Beyond the Border), “He Hun”(Wedding Celebration), “Ning Bian”(Border Pacification) and “Gong Rong”(Shared Prosperity). Through these chapters, it vividly portrays the remarkable life of Wang Zhaojun, highlighting her self-sacrifice for the nation, her role in ensuring border stability, and her contributions to fostering shared prosperity.
