At around 10 a.m. on May 19, a freight train carrying 1,024 tons of fertilizers and other export goods departed from the Jiangshan Beier Public RailwayLogistics Park in Dangyang County. The train will be reorganized at Huaihuaxi RailwayStation and exit China through the Mohan Port in Yunnan Province, with an estimated arrival at its final destination, Luang Prabang in Laos, within 6 to 8 days. This marks the first direct China-Laos Railway freight service launched from Dangyang.

It is understood that the China-Laos Railway freight service from Dangyang will commence regular operations in the future, extending its coverage to neighboring areas such as Yuan’an and Jingmen, establishingnew international logistics channels for local enterprises, serving as a key indicator of regional economic integration into the Belt and Road Initiative and a “Southeast Asia Express” that bridges Dangyang’s manufacturers to Laos, Myanmar and other Southeast Asian countries.
