On June 4, in the workshops of the Yichang Shipbuilding Industry Park located in Zhijiang County, machines roared as welding sparks flew, and workers were busy carrying out ship welding, assembly and painting operations. Nine shipbuilding companies, including Shengmao, Hongju and Xinhui, are clustered within a 3-kilometer stretchalong the Yangtze River bank in the park. The companies in the parkhavereceived 72 new ship orders in 2025, with new-energy vessels accounting for 91.7% of the total orders, including 9 foreign trade ship orders.
