Yichang has recently entered the mid-season rice harvest period. On September 8, the 500,000 mu (approximately 34,000 hectares) of rice fields in Dangyang County, a national model for grain production, turned golden. In Hongsheng Village of Herong Town, multiple harvesters operated at full capacity across a 10,000-mu rice base. Villagers expectedexceptionally strong crop growth this year, with an estimated yield increase of 50kg per mu compared to last year. The total mid-season rice planting area of Yichang remained stable at around 1.1 million mu (approximately 75,000 hectares), with an expected total output of 639,300 metric tons.
