The opening ceremony of the 7th Yichang Municipal Games was held on the evening of October 10 at the Cultural Center Square in Yiling District.

　　The quadrennial event will run through October 17. It features the highest number of events and participants in the history of Yichang Municipal Games, with competitions spanning 34 major disciplines and 671 sub-disciplines.
