World’s largest clean energy corridor generates over 4 trillion kWh
2025-10-22 14:24:00

A monumental milestone in renewable energy production has been achieved by the world’s largest clean energy corridor along China’s Yangtze River. As of Oct. 17, the six mega hydropower stations—Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, the Three Gorges and Gezhouba—comprising this engineering marvelhave collectively generated over 4 trillion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity since their operations began.

This vast clean energy corridor, harnessing the power of the Yangtze’s mainstream, solidifies its position as a global leader in sustainable power infrastructure. The corridor’s output continues to surge, with its power generation reaching 235.1 billion kWh during the first three quarters of this year alone.

Operational efficiency reached remarkable levels this year, with the corridor generating more than 1 billion kWh on 89 separate days. Daily output peaked at an impressive 1.6 billion kWh, demonstrating the immense and reliable capacity of this integrated hydropower system. (Correspondent/Wang Huifu)
