In a photo taken on November 30, the Shahe River Park in Yichang's urban area revealed its exceptional charm under the sunlight. As a tributary of the Huangbai River, Shahe River had once deteriorated into a foul-smelling, polluted waterway due to urban development. In 2016, a comprehensive improvement project was launched, implementing measures such as pollution source control and ecological restoration. Upon completion of the renovation in 2022, the water quality of Shahe River was elevated to the Class IV surface water standard.
