On November 27, construction wasunderway at a section of the Yichang Yangtze River Rail- Road Bridge. The project was progressing steadily, with all critical milestones on schedule. Running parallel to the existing Yichang-Wanzhou Railway Yangtze River Bridge, this project is a pivotal link in the Yichang-Fuling High-Speed Railway, featuring an 800-meter cable-stayed main span. The upper deck of the bridge carries four high-speed railway tracks, while the lower deck accommodates a six-lane urban arterial road, with space reserved on both sides for future urban rail transit. Scheduled for completion in 2029, it is set to become the rail-road bridge with the mostrailway and transit tracks in the world. (Sanxia Daily: Reporter/Huang Xiang)
